콘크리트 덩어리의 가운데를 뚫어놓은 것은 여백의 생성을 기대한 것이다. 가장자리의 여백이 아니라 중심의 여백이다. 여백의 주변에 자리한 자잘한 기능들은 그것이 목적이었음에도 비어진 중심을 위한 장치에 지나지 않는다. 들어올려 비운 지면과 트인 하늘은 그곳을 안과 밖의 상대적 상황이 아니라 ‘없음’과 ‘있음’의 대립적인 개념은 쓸모 없도록 한다. 보이지 않는 ‘없음’에서 ‘있음’을 본다는 것은 물질이 아닌 비물질의 인식이다. 한정된 영역으로부터 자유로워야 하는 공간의 본질은 한계의 구속에 풀려나기 위해 ‘없음’으로 존재한다. 그것은 ‘0’의 상태이다.

A void space is expected from perforating a mass of concrete in the middle. The void is not of on the edge but the center. The program at the edge of a void space is nothing but a device for a perforated center although it was a primary object. The upraised–void level from a ground and the opened sky make to neutralize a opposite concept as ‘existence’ and ‘nonexistence’. Seeing the “existence” throughout the invisible “ nonexistence” is recognizing the immaterial not the material. The essence of a space being free from the limited domain exists in “nonexistence” in order to be released from the limits. That is the status “ zero “.
